Three years, three books.

It’s almost like I’m good at this writing thing.
I know I haven’t updated in a while. It’s been a crazy time in my life. Within the past 14 months, my mom, her last remaining sibling, my brother, and my father all passed away. To say that I’ve been dealing with some stuff would be to put it kindly.

But despite all of the chaos and sadness in my personal life, I was able to put together a collection of short stories featuring my Derringer Award-winning tale called “Negative Tilt,” which originally appeared in Issue No. 7 of Rock & a Hard Place. The collection: NEGATIVE TILT: Stories comes out on March 27, 2024, and you can pre-order a copy from the publisher, Shotgun Honey, right now.

Over the past three-ish years, I’ve had 30 stories published in magazines of varying repute, though I thank them all for running my work. I wouldn’t have this collection without them. I’ve curated 20 of those stories into the collection, and added eight brand-new ones. My hope is that you’ll love the book. And if you don’t keep it to yourself.

Thanks for reading, y’all. In the words of Todd Snider: “It’s been a long, long, long year.” I don’t plan to do much, if any, fiction writing for a while. I need to grieve, to clear my head, and let my soul rest a little bit. But listen: The folks who read my stuff make it possible for me to continue writing novels and short stories and essays and all of the other stuff that weasels its way into my head.
